Engine

The MT900 is fitted with a GM produced LS7 motor. While the MT900 is a very light platform, and indeed adding lightness is the key to performance, a performance car still needs power to perform. The LS7 provides this power and more. With an aluminum block and heads, forged titanium connecting rods, hypereutectic pistons, and titanium intake valves, the LS7 is built to reliably provide power. Output is 530hp @ 6,500rpm while torque is 515 lb-ft at 5,500rpm. The engine spins to 7,000rpm. Engine oil lubrication is provided by a dry sump oil system, ensuring ample lubrication at the MT900’s limits and even beyond.

Transmission

While the MT900’s chassis is designed to handle every horsepower it’s LS7 motor can provide, that power must be effectively put to the ground. This must be done in an efficient way, with gearing that is supportive of the MT900’s performance requirements. The transmission utilized is a Getrag 6 speed manual, mounted at the rear of the LS7 motor. Gear ratios are such that only one shift is required to achieve 60mph. Above that, the gear ratios remain close to optimize mid range, on track performance - until sixth gear, which supports great fuel economy.

Suspension

The MT900 features a double wishbone suspension design with integrated anti dive geometry. Materials wise, chromoly control arms are utilized with racing heim joints at all attachment points. In addition, advanced adjustible shocks are used at all corners to optimize the MT900’s handling for all conditions.

Brakes

One of the many advantages of a lightweight car is the fact that you don’t need massive (heavy) brakes to slow it down. Superior braking can be achieved with less. To that end, the MT900 utilizes 6 piston front/ 4 piston rear Wilwood calipers. These powerful calipers house the clamping force to bite down on 14” diameter rotors that are 1.1” thick front and rear.

Tires

The standard tire offering is the Michelin Pilot PS2 soft compound tire. Sizes are 265/35R19 front and 335/30R20 rear. Both tires are standard-carcass tires. The Mosler’s lightweight construction means that there is less load on the tire, so a standard carcass construction is optimal for performance. A secondary benefit is tires with this construction have a nicer ride quality. For applications where higher traction is desired, the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tire in sizes 285/35R18 front and 345/30R19 rear yields a mind-warping level of lateral grip and will provide traction for higher horsepower engines. Mosler Automotive can recommend track-only tires upon customer request.
